| Business Growth Model |
Whilst there are many schools of thought, one the most prominent concepts suggest that an organisation typically moves through 5 phases of growth.
These are:
Leadership / Creativity |
Autonomy / Direction |
Control / Delegation |
Bureaucracy / Coordination |
Adaptation / Collaboration |
These phases require the organisation to undergo structural change which can be undertaken as evolutionary where the business has planned its future or as revolutionary where the organisation hasn't planned and is typlically faced with crisis management.
The nature of each transition will depend on whether the organisation starts in a simple or a complex environment. In any case structural change may be difficult to accomplish because of resistance by employees.
